Precision Laser Cutting with Pin Point Accuracy

Through an exclusive partnership AST Waterjet has continued its’ commitment to advanced manufacturing technology by offering laser cutting services. We have recently added an NTC America model TLZ-510 Laser to increase our manufacturing capacity. This is an ultra-high speed 2-dimensional, 3-axis 5,000 Watt laser system with dual pallet changer and flying optics provides high-speed cutting, flexibility and precision for 3-axis laser cutting of a variety of materials.

As with our water jet cutting services, AST offers complete laser fabrication services including laser cutting, engineering capability and CAD/ CAM processing. There are no tooling charges and the programming is easy, even on irregular shaped parts.

Technology (Laser Cutting machines)

Our laser cutting machines are efficient at cutting thin materials and are used to machine parts with pin point accuracy. Increased tolerances are another added benefit of laser cutting. Most times, / - .003” can be achieved.

With cutting feed rates to 1,575 inches per minute and rapid feed rates to 3,739 inches per minute, the TLZ provides the speed for virtually any high-production cutting. The TLZ dual-pallet changer allows for quick set up time and flexible cutting operations. Robust construction and stability provide for high repeatability, positioning accuracy and consistent cutting action. The 5,000 watt system can cut a maximum sheet size of 60” x 120” with a positioning accuracy of 0.002”.

Materials

We focus on cutting thinner gauge (< 3/8”) metals like stainless steel, aluminum and low carbon steel with our laser cutting machines. Laser cutting is the way to go with thinner materials. At speeds of 200 – 300 inches per minute, let us show you how we can create a great looking part for less money.

Laser cutting is used on materials that cannot be cut as efficiently with our water jet machines. Laser cutting is used in cases where it is more cost effective and extremely close tolerances are important.
